Board of Directors

The brand new Board of Directors of Alpharetta Community Chorus, Inc. met for the first time on August 17. Officers are Mary Busman, President; David Anderson, Treasurer; Virginia Mann, Secretary; and Robin and Thomas Yackley, Artistic Directors. Also present for the meeting was Stephanie Brown, who has been guiding us through the process of becoming a non-profit organization, pro-bono! Thank you, Stephanie! The board approved bylaws and discussed ways to share the duties of running the chorus.

We voiced the women’s sections at our rehearsal Tuesday night. They sound great! If you missed the 6/17 rehearsal, come 15 minutes early tonight if possible for voice placement.

Voicing a choir is a process of placing voices in locations where we achieve the best blend, resonance, balance, and the richest use of the voices in a choir. The tone quality of the choir is enhanced when members of a choir are placed in their optimal locations.

If you must miss a rehearsal, send us a private Facebook message or email us: to help us with planning . See you at rehearsal!

Weather finally cooperates!

So glad we get to have a rehearsal tonight! Our pre-rehearsal lesson will focus on time signatures and changing meters. To make up for lost time, our rehearsal will be primarily in sections so we can solidify our parts. Looking forward to seeing you there! Only 11 rehearsals left…
